So recently my friends friend came upon a photo from a photo shoot my friend and I did dressed as witches. I loved showing off the costumes and photo shopping magic and mists. But sadly the photo was found on the most random of websites, a wiccan one, not that I objected to the content, just the stolen photo.
I don't want my friends to not model for me and I don't want non credited, unapproved work featured on unknown sites. This isn't the first time this has happened. I found a photo of my dad processing honey (family biz) on a site in Arabic. Blows my mind. It's not that hard to ask permission, i'm not closed to the idea of being featured for things, it gets my name and my art out there. But please PLEASE refer to the stock rules
when using stock and I've also had to delete a great deal from my account due to peoples inability to understand what it means to feature a photo somewhere online that is not yours and is without the creators permission. I have watermarks on photos now, and I had to do the same to Facebook. Now my portfolio online is reduced and I feel like I can't share things.
makes one question having anything online at all. I know the risk of such things, but it hurts when it happens. Especially when you used a friend as a model and they are hurt by it to the point they can't sleep at night. I've always tried to be so careful when dealing with photos for graphics work and my own work.
